Recursion – Development Time Lapse

Sorry for the period of inactivity, I’ve been working on a project that I’m not yet ready to reveal yet, mostly because I’ve had to rework most of it over and over and I’m still not happy with the architectural structure of everything.

That said, I finally put together the time lapse footage from Recursion‘s 3-day development period, which you can view below or on YouTube. Recursion has found a sponsor and the game will be available soon – I’ll put up an official launch post when it is, but until then, enjoy the video!

  1. Great work man!
Your coding is very organized and seems you have a very good platforming engine + editor already.
Also, very nice and fast pixel drawing, I find it hard to believe you came with all your sprites yourself without copying at least partially some others (that’s what i do for vector graphics :) )

    • Actually, all the code was written from scratch for the game, except what comes with FlashPunk, which is just rendering and entity management/updating. I don’t have a “platforming engine” of any kind, and the editor is just Ogmo Editor (the old AIR version, not the new C# version).
